New high-performance 
professional batteries offer enhanced capacity and longevity

RS Components has introduced the new Duracell Procell range of high-performance alkaline batteries, designed to replace the Duracell Industrial range used by OEMs and professional end-users around the world. These professional industrial batteries provide higher capacity and greater longevity than the company's previous industrial batteries of comparable size and format, resulting in fewer battery replacements and savings on associated running costs.

The range includes alkaline–manganese dioxide batteries in five standard formats. The Procell PC1500 and PC2400 are 1.5V batteries in AA (LR6) and AAA (LR03) formats, respectively, suitable for industrial and professional remote control, sensor, security keypad and wireless mouse applications. The PC1400 and PC1300 are 1.5V batteries in C (LR14) and D (LR20) formats, respectively, for employment in sensors, security keypads and flushometers. The PC1604 is a standard 9V (6LR61) battery for such applications as multimeters, carbon monoxide detectors, smoke detectors, medical devices and microphones.

The company employs its highest-quality cell designs, materials and processes to produce the range, optimising battery capacity, longevity and corrosion resistance. The AA, AAA, C, D and 9V versions provide nominal capacities of 3016mAh, 1236mAh, 8100mAh, 15476mAh and 673mAh, respectively.

These batteries are tested to rigorous quality, reliability and environmental standards, including applicable parts of IEC 60086-1, IEC 60086-2, IEC 60086-5, ANSI C 18.1M Part-2, and the EU Battery Directive. They can be employed over a very wide operating temperature range from –20C to +54C.
