DC-DC converter for rugged industrial and railway applications

TRACO POWER has released its new THN 10 WIR series of 10W high-density DC-DC converters in an industry-standard 1" x 1" footprint and qualified for rugged industrial and railway applications. The device is certified to EN 50155 and EN 61373 standards.

The series of ruggedised converters are created and manufactured for high reliability in harsh environments. The converters offer ultra-wide wide 4:1 input ranges of 9-36VDC, 18-78VDC and 36-160VDC with single and dual outputs varying from 3.3-24VDC. The innovative design gives high efficiencies up to 90% and allows a full load operating temperature range from -40C to +80C with no derating and increased resistance against EMI, shock/vibration and thermal shock.

All models are safety approved to IEC/EN/UL 62368-1 with CB Report and EN 50155 certified qualifying them for harsh environments in industrial, railway and transportation systems and further qualified for fire behaviour of components per EN 45545-2. Features of the device comprise an internal EN 55032 class A input filter; input under-voltage-lockout; remote On/Off; short circuit protection; and output voltage trim. All models offer extreme reliability with an MTBF of over 2.3 million hours and are supported by the company's three-year warranty.
