Binder has released a new M16 connector that is ASIG C485-compliant and, therefore, ideal for application in the latest 5G wireless networks. The company has made available eight-pole versions which are compliant with the standard.
The new 423 and 723 series M16 connectors are offered both as cable connectors and as cable sockets, as well as flange versions, in a shielded version. The connectors satisfy the demands of IP68 protection when connected, offering maximum reliability even in hostile external conditions.
Cable assemblies furnished with these M16 connectors connect the mobile phone base station to an electric motor installed on the base of the antenna.
According to the company, the number and variety of applications for the M16 connector have considerably increased over the years due to lower contact resistance, higher pin count and enhanced levels of protection. This latest application is an excellent example of the connector’s ability to satisfy new performance and environmental challenges.
