Power module platform maximises the advantages of SiC

Wolfspeed has designed the XM3 power module platform to maximise the advantages of SiC while keeping the module and system design simple, robust and cost-effective. The device is available now from RS Components.

At half the weight and volume of a standard 62mm module, this power module maximises power density while reducing loop inductance and allowing simple power bussing.

The device’s SiC optimised packaging allows 175C continuous junction operation, with a high-reliability Silicon Nitride (Si3N4) power substrate to ensure mechanical robustness under extreme conditions.

The device is an excellent solution for demanding applications such as EV chargers, UPS, and traction drives.
