PEAK-System Technik has expanded its product range with the freely programmable PCAN-Router Pro FD. The router connects the data traffic of up to six modern CAN FD or classic CAN buses. The routing from CAN to CAN FD or vice versa enables the integration of new CAN FD applications into current CAN 2.0 buses. Moreover, the PCAN-Router Pro FD can also be employed as a data logger for recording CAN data and error frames.
The router is supplied in a robust aluminium housing and is equipped with six CAN FD channels, four digital inputs and outputs, and one analog input. For recording, 16GB of internal memory and a slot for a further SD card are offered. Also, a backup battery can be employed to ensure a controlled switch-off, for example, in case of a power interruption. The company also provides various hardware options. Thus, the PCAN-Router Pro FD can be equipped with an Ethernet or BroadR-Reach interface as well as with alternative transceiver modules for each CAN channel.
The behaviour of the PCAN-Router Pro FD is freely programmable using the C/C++ programming language. Many examples from the provided SDK demonstrate the implementation of the various functions and assist the development of an own application.
