Stewart Connector has released the M12 X-Code Field Terminatable Plug, aimed at environments where rugged connectors are required to power and communicate with equipment extensively found in today’s manufacturing environments.
The industry-standard M12 X-Code design provides eight positions to allow Ethernet connectivity and data transmission. The new plug is part of the company’s extensive range of modular plugs that are created to support 1000Base-T and 10GBase-T transfer rates. The plug is IP67 rated when mated, further extending its Ethernet connectivity providing for industrial and harsh environments.
The company’s plug is an IDC termination style to give termination with no need for speciality tooling. The IDC type termination is an excellent feature for the termination in the field by giving quick and efficient termination with no need to strip wire insulation and can terminate to both solid and stranded cable. The plug accepts a cable diameter of 0.267"–0.354" (6.8mm–9mm) and accommodates 24 and 26AWG wire.
