Texas Instruments LMR36520 Simple Switcher Step-Down Converters provide integrated high-side and low-side power MOSFETs, with output current up to 2A provided over a broad input voltage range of 4.2V to 65V. The transient tolerance up to 70V, decreases the solution size and cost to guard against overvoltages, and satisfies the surge immunity requirements of IEC 61000-4-5.
The device employs peak-current mode control to give optimal efficiency and output voltage accuracy. Precision enable provides flexibility by enabling a direct connection to the broad input voltage or precise control over device start-up and shutdown. The power-good flag, with built-in filtering and delay, gives a precise indication of system status, removing the necessity for an external supervisor.
The demand for many external components is eliminated by integration and internal compensation and gives a pinout created for a simple PCB layout. The feature set of the device is intended to simplify implementation for an extensive range of end equipment.
The device is pin-to-pin compatible with the LMR36510 (65V, 1A) and LMR33610, LMR33620, LMR33630, and LMR33640 (36V, 1A/2A/3A/4A), completing the newest family of Simple Switcher converters. This improves the ease of use and scalability of wide Vin converters over multiple commonly employed voltage and current ratings with no need to redesign the board layout. As a result, the overall cost, design effort, and time to market are optimised. The LMR36520 is available in an eight-pin HSOIC package.
Typical applications include IP network cameras, analog security cameras, HVAC valve and actuator control, AC drive and servo drive control modules, analog input modules and mixed IO modules, and general-purpose wide VIN power supplies.
