Breakout board created as an easy-to-use reference design platform

The Cypress Semiconductor CY8CKIT-148-COIL MagSense Inductive-Sensing Coil Breakout Board Microcontroller Evaluation Kit is available now from RS Components.

This Inductive-Sensing Coil Breakout board is created as an easy-to-use reference design platform. The board is purpose-built to be compatible with the CY8CKIT-148 PSoC 4700S Inductive Sensing Evaluation Kit, where MagSense Inductive Sensing with multiple coils can be evaluated. The board highlights 16 total inductive sensing coils which exhibit different performance characteristics.

The board offers proximity and touch detection using a single sensor; rotation angle detection with a rotary encoder; linear position encoding with two 100x8 linear encoder coils; and horizontal gesture detection with a six-segment sensor array.
