New screw-terminal capacitors combine ultra-long life with high energy density

New Yorker Electronics now offers the newest Exxelia Sic Safco Long-Life Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitor. The Felsic HV family of aluminium electrolytic screw terminal capacitors produce great performances in energy density coupled with an ultra-long lifetime. For instance, 6,800µF @450V fit into a volume of Ø77x220mm and can endure 200,000 hours between 0C to 70C under 37A, which makes them an excellent choice for employment in rolling stock traction systems or the concurrent versioning system.

The series also provides one of the lowest ESR of its class with lower than 10mOhms in many cases. Products are offered for voltages from 160VDC to 450VDC and provide capacitance values from 1500μF up to 47,000μF – assuring the best compromise between reliability and compactness.

The typical use for these capacitors is in aviation, defence, medical and railway applications.
