Texas Instruments ADS7028 12-Bit Analog-to-Digital Converter is an easy-to-use, eight-channel, multiplexed, 12-bit, 1MSPS, successive approximation register analog-to-digital converter. The eight channels can be independently configured as analog inputs, digital inputs, or digital outputs. The device includes an internal oscillator for the ADC conversion process. The device communicates through an SPI-compatible interface and functions in either autonomous or single-shot conversion mode.

The device implements the analog watchdog function by event-triggered interrupts per channel employing a digital window comparator with programmable high and low thresholds, hysteresis, and an event counter. The device has a built-in CRC for data read/write operations and the power-up configuration. It features a RMS module that computes a 16-bit true RMS result for any analog input channel. The integrated ZCD module provides for transient rejection and hysteresis near the configurable threshold crossings.

Typical areas of use include refrigerator and freezer, rack server, mixed module (AI, AO, DI, DO), and AC drive power stage module applications.
