Queue management system enables people to maintain a safe distance

RS Components has launched the RS PRO SMART-Q queue management system, a robust and high-quality configurable beacon tower that manages the flow of staff and customers, by assisting them in moving around safely and efficiently in a wide variety of retail, commercial and industrial environments, as well as at live events including conferences and exhibitions.

The system employs green and red LED lights and an acoustic signal to indicate 'loudly and clearly' when it is safe for people to continue. The system is completely self-contained, which makes it fast and easy to position almost anywhere, including doorways or hallway junctions. It needs no wiring, as it is powered through an internal, rechargeable battery, but it can also operate from a mains power supply if available. In the case of battery operation, the red LED will flash to show when the battery is running low.

The queue management system can be configured to work at specified periods of between 2-12 seconds. The green LED automatically lights for the period selected. Alternatively, it can be managed manually utilising the remote control provided, enabling it to be operated from a safe distance.

Constructed from durable polycarbonate and ABS plastic, the beacon tower stands at 1350mm in height on a base measuring 230mm in diameter.
