Arrow Electronics and Exor Embedded now offer the nanoSOM nS02, a high-performance, energy-efficient SOM for IoT edge deployments. The device is based on the 800MHz version of STMicroelectronics’ STM32MP1 microprocessor. The module works as a full production design, and the company also offers a supporting development kit.
The device is an innovative, ultra-compact and cost-effective SOM based on the STM32MP1 with dual Arm Cortex-A7 cores and a Cortex-M4 core as well as a 3D GPU supporting HMI development. The device is ideal for applications needing IoT connectivity, multimedia capabilities and high security in connectivity, particularly as an Industry 4.0 embedded solution.
The device is a rugged solution and is soldered directly onto the main carrier board, without the necessity for separate connectors that could decrease the reliability of the system.
At just 25.4mm x 25.4mm x 3mm, the device offers flexibility for developers of the new generation of smart IoT products, allowing them to create products that are remarkably compact and ultra-slim.
Target applications incorporate smart IoT controllers and gateways, cloud edge interfaces, and building automation.
