Cognex Corporation has launched its DataMan 8700 Series of handheld barcode readers. Built on a fully redesigned platform, this next generation of handheld readers provides cutting-edge performance and simplicity of use with no tuning or operator training needed.

Providing advanced image formation and quick processing, the series can instantly read challenging direct part mark (and label-based codes, even when essential elements of the code are missing or damaged. Created with oil-resistant and waterproof plastics, the readers are constructed to last in the most difficult manufacturing environments.

The new readers comprise built-in OLED display screens to allow quick setup and operator feedback, including wireless signal strength, read string data, and remaining battery life. They also support a wide range of industrial protocols and wireless communication options to connect seamlessly and function efficiently in any facility.
