SMT connectors offer lightweight low-profile and secure connection

RS Components now stocks a new range of SMT, Low Insertion Force connectors from Würth Elektronik. Using a low profile, lightweight, and secure and removable connection, they are made to measure applications needing a connection to small displays such as wearables.

The connectors are a wire-to-board solution to connect wires to a PCB inside electronic equipment quickly and reliably. Intended for flat flexible cables as counterparts, they provide excellent cable retention even in small sizes. They are also simple to insert even when using very thin cables, and their optimised design guarantees good contact between mating parts.

Another important feature of the connectors is their nickel underplating that stops the tin-whisker phenomenon. Made utilising plastic that can withstand high temperatures, the connectors are also lead-free reflow compatible, facilitating great flexibility in design.

The connectors have a 1mm pitch, 125VAC working voltage, and 30mOhm contact resistance.
