Murata has integrated Wirepas Mesh with its MBN52832 embedded Bluetooth Module, forming a massively scalable solution for low-power sensor networks.
The combination of Wirepas Mesh with the module gives application developers a connectivity layer, allowing data collection, device management and location tracking over multiple applications, incorporating asset management, smart lighting and industrial IoT. The ultra-low power characteristics of the module, together with the Wirepas Mesh routing technology facilitates a sensor battery life of over five years and supports up to four billion devices in a single network.
“This relationship with Wirepas underlines Murata’s ability to form partnerships across any region”, said Akira Sasaki, general manager, IoT Group, Murata. “Murata’s global leadership in multi-functional, high-density modules paired with Wirepas’ experience and passionate focus on the development of IoT connectivity software has enabled the creation of this industry-leading solution with extremely high levels of reliability and security.”
“Partnering with one of the most recognisable brands in the wireless market is an exciting opportunity. We both believe IoT is about ecosystem and team play. The market needs mature, high-performing platforms to be able to build solutions in a timely and cost-efficient way. Combining Murata technologies with Wirepas Mesh software shortens the design time and accelerates time to market. I am looking forward to creating successful IoT businesses for our customers together with Murata,” said Teppo Hemiä, CEO of Wirepas.
