High voltage DC power supplies provide 10kW of regulated power up to 100kV

XP Power has released the XP Glassman BQ series of 10kW, high voltage power supplies for OEM, industrial and laboratory organisations needing controllable DC power from 0kV to 15kV through to 0kV to 100kV. The fast response units provide tight voltage regulation of greater than 0.005% for line regulation and 0.01% for load. Up to five units can connect in parallel in a master-slave configuration to deliver up to 50kW.

The 19-inch, 7U rack-mount units integrate the latest design topologies and operating features with proven reliability at an appealing price point. The input of the series is provided with 208VAC three-phase as standard, however, to satisfy global appeal, 200VAC, 380VAC, 415VAC and 480VAC options are also offered. Efficiency is typically better than 80% at full load, with ripple typically less than 0.05% RMS of the rated output voltage.

All models offer safety certification to the EN/IEC61010 standard, with CE marking to the RoHS directive. The units also comply with EN61000-6-4 conducted and radiated emissions and EN61000-6-2:2005 immunity standards. Suitable applications include ion implantation, additive manufacturing, vapour deposition, e-beam welding, sputter, and plasma sources.

A notable feature of the series is all models are air-insulated. Employing air as the primary dielectric medium removes oil or encapsulation, which means it is lightweight, under 40kg, and simple to maintain and service, which lowers total cost of ownership.
