Connector caps give an extra level of ingress protection

GradConn's Nautilus range of IP-rated coaxial cable assemblies and connectors is now offered with optional cap accessories, adding additional protection levels and are excellent for connections that primarily stay unmated for extended periods.

The new IP67 rated caps assist in preventing the build-up of moisture, dust, and dirt collecting in the connector's mating face. The connectors are sealed unmated to IP68 with a cleverly designed internal contact seal, and the caps offer further peace of mind to connections left exposed in extreme environments. Applications including outdoor portable equipment needing connections to be made and disconnected often can gain from employing a cap when an antenna is not being used to assist in stopping the collection of dust and dirt when in the field.

The caps provide an IP67 seal with SMA (rear mount), N-Type, and TNC versions of the range. There are also options as dust caps for non-Nautilus versions of these connector types. The brass alloy caps are finished in nickel plating (N and TNC) or gold-plating (SMA) and are offered with or without chain attachment.
