Bulgin offers a new, extensive range of Rectangular Power Connectors including 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 and 12 pole versions, targeting demanding cable-to-cable applications. With a high current rating (13A), these connectors offer a robust construction that provides continued reliability in harsh operational environments. Due to the silicone rubber seals, these connectors conform to IP68 and IP69K standards, protecting against the ingress of water, dust, etc. Compliance with EN60068-2-52 means they can be utilised in marine deployments too.
These connectors’ mouldings comprise polybutylene terephthalate with polyamide glass fibre reinforcements embedded. Their contacts are constructed of copper alloy, with either nickel or gold plating specified. 14AGW to 20AWG diameter wires can be housed. A mixture of optional added features is available for the connectors. These comprise enhanced seal retention capabilities, shrink boot adapters, protective end caps, welded flanges and terminating resistors. Y-type connector terminations are also offered, to satisfy automotive implementations.
Support from 100 mating cycles further underlines the durability of these new connectors, covering an operational temperature range of -40C to +120C. Wedge-locks are supplied for greater contact retention, resulting in the capability to withstand forces of 111N. Insulation resistance of over 1000MOhm (at 500VDC) prevents leakage current issues.
