Rutronik UK now stocks the Smart Panel PC MM8 from Holitech offering intelligent face recognition and sensor-controlled temperature recording. A versatile, simple solution, the device combines easily into existing systems, allowing companies and public institutions to gain effective and secure access management.

The touch display together with the 2MP camera, loudspeaker and temperature sensor incorporated in the housing forms the front end, providing a discreet integration into the environment. The actual data synchronisation is produced via specially developed software on an external server connected to the PC through a network. The values are processed and, depending on the organiser's specifications, appropriate commands return to the device. For the output of commands to external devices, both an RS-232 and Wiegand interface are offered.

With a recognition time of fewer than 0.5 seconds, the binocular infrared camera is extremely efficient. The device compares biometric data based on a stored profile and detects changes in a person, as well. Photo or video material is differentiated from real people, and therefore unauthorised visitors are denied access. The combination with the intelligent voice output produces a smart system to improve safety. The display also acts as an information board, delivering opening hours without initiating data reconciliation.
