New high-precision and low-profile medical sensors

TDK Corporation offers a new range of highly accurate differential pressure sensors (part number B58621V*), designed as PCBs. The sensors are designed for measurement ranges of 16mbar full-scale (FS), 100mbar FS and 7bar FS, with absolute accuracy of up to ±1% FS at temperatures from -20C to +70C.

The device footprint of 24mm x 26mm offers pressure ports and inlets (providing for simple screw fitting and easy maintenance) as well as two plug connectors for simple implementation of daisy chain systems. The integrated SPI facilitates easy integration into multiple digital applications. The sensors are EN ISO 13485-certified for employment in medical devices. Precise pressure loss measurements in the flow lines enable flow rates to be determined accurately in ventilator equipment, and they are especially well suited for mobile ventilators due to their remarkably low profile of only 6mm. The sensors are also ideal for monitoring filters and gas admixtures.
