Mouser now stocks the QPF4516B Wi-Fi 6 front-end module (FEM) from Qorvo. The FEM is intended for Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) applications, facilitating significantly quicker wireless download/upload speeds, improved data capacity, enhanced connectivity in crowded spaces and better battery life for IoT client devices. The highly integrated FEM is perfect for various Wi-Fi 6 applications, including customer premises equipment, wireless routers, and access points.

The device combines a 5GHz power amplifier, an SPDT switch, and a low-noise amplifier with bypass. The FEM is intended to support increased users per access point, higher-density deployments, increased per-user traffic demand, increased cellular offloading, and further power and performance in Wi-Fi 6 applications. The module's power amplifier is optimised for a 5V supply voltage, preserving power consumption while sustaining the highest linear output power and leading-edge throughput. The high-performance FEM offers a transmit gain of 33dB and a receive gain of 15dB, with a 2dB noise figure.

The 5mm x 3mm FEM comprises a logarithmic power detector, allowing power control over the complete power spectrum for applications that employ higher gain antennas or end-users desiring to reduce device calibration time in production.
