New SMP connector offers improved performance and assembly

Amphenol RF has expanded its SMP offerings with a high‐frequency commercial cable plug intended for 0.086 semi-rigid, conformable or flexible cable.

The SMP product series has a new right‐angle cable plug designed for more straightforward assembly and improved performance. These connectors are excellent for telecommunications and defence applications that need compact, secure RF interconnect.

This new commercial product employs the standard SMP interface and offers a high‐frequency solution that provides reliable performance up to 26.5GHz. Designed for 0.086 semi‐rigid, conformable or flexible cable, it is constructed employing machined beryllium copper for the body and contact, with PTFE used for the insulator and spacer components.

This right‐angle SMP plug joins a robust portfolio of connectors, adapters and cable assemblies created for high‐frequency applications. These products are compatible with all industry-standard interfaces of the same type and are frequently used in broadband, instrumentation and test and measurement equipment.
