Amphenol RF has expanded its cable assembly portfolio with extra pre-configured SMA options to support designs that require a more ruggedised, waterproof solution. These new SMA assemblies use a bulkhead jack on one end thoroughly tested to IP67 specifications in mated and unmated conditions. They are developed on flexible RG-316 coax cable, which is excellent for low-loss applications in industrial and IoT verticals.
These 50-Ohm IP67 SMA cable assemblies provide reliable electrical performance up to 3GHz. They offer lightweight and durable connectors for use in various outdoor and indoor applications. The SMA connectors are fabricated employing gold-plated brass bodies with gold-plated, beryllium copper contacts and are offered in a straight or right-angle plug to jack configurations. The SMA interface utilises a threaded coupling mechanism that provides secure mating resulting in built-in vibration resistance.
The new cable assemblies are part of a comprehensive portfolio of sealed IP67-rated products that deliver additional protection against external weather-related elements. These fixed-length assemblies provide a durable solution for harsh environments, combining the more ruggedised connectors and the robust cable type. Also, the RG-316 cable has a small diameter, making these assemblies ideal for wireless communication, broadcast, and defence equipment.
