TVS components for industrial application circuit protection

ProTek Devices has launched a series of high-powered surface mount transient voltage suppression components that offer circuit protection in many industrial applications. These applications comprise relay drives, motor start-and-stop electromagnetic field protection, module lightning protection, and secondary lightning protection in AC/DC applications.

The SM30KWExxA/CA series comprises of many TVS components ranging in rated stand-off voltages from 16V to 78V. The parts offer compliance with the standard, RTCA DO-160G. They also feature waveforms (pin injection) three and four – level five; and waveform 5A – level four. Other features comprise a low clamping voltage and 30kW peak pulse power per line (typical = 10/1000 microseconds).

They also provide engineers with the capability for unidirectional and bidirectional configurations and easy mounting on PCBs. The parts are all RoHS and REACH compliant.

This series of TVS components have an approximate weight of just 1.2g. The component comes in a moulded surface mount package. Other mechanical and packaging characteristics incorporate operating and storage temperatures of -55C to 150C. Packaging is lead-free 100% tin plating. The components perform with a solder reflow temperature of 260C, 10 seconds. The series have a flammability rating of UL 94V-0 and are provided on 24mm tape and reel, per EIA standard 481, in minimum quantities of 1,000.
