Long reach Ethernet solution for digitising building automation networks

Analog Devices, Inc. offers a complete 10BASE-T1L Ethernet solution created for building automation networks. Digital, connected automation equipment provides holistic building management varying from heating ventilation and air conditioning to occupancy comfort. The new ADIN2111 adds Long Reach Ethernet connectivity to sensors, controllers, and actuators, providing more efficient and sustainable building management insights. Suited for use within small, power-constrained edge devices, the device offers up to 50% power consumption savings and up to 75% in PCB real estate versus discrete implementations.

The device is intended for daisy-chaining data in line and ring networks using existing deployed single twisted-pair cabling infrastructure in buildings, shrinking retrofitting costs. The enhanced diagnostic features decrease commissioning, installation, and system downtime by troubleshooting problems swiftly and effectively using the real-time information on link quality and fault location provided. Compliant to the IEEE 802.3cg standard, this solution provides Ethernet connectivity over 1.7km of cabling, supports ring redundancy and soft real-time protocols such as Modbus/TCP, BACnet/IP and KNX.
