Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has released a new low profile, AEC-Q200 qualified DC-Link metallised polypropylene film capacitor. Created to satisfy the needs of high humidity automotive applications, the Vishay Roederstein MKP1848Se DC-Link is the first device to be able to withstand temperature humidity bias (THB) testing of 60C/93% relative humidity for 56 days at rated voltage.

The automotive grade capacitor is offered in four building heights – 12mm, 15mm, 18mm, and 24mm – and 12 standard dimension options. With its low-profile design and high resistance to humidity, the radial device is excellent for space-constrained automotive applications, including HVAC systems, on-board and inductive battery charging systems, air conditioning compressors, and motor drives for EV and PHEV.

The MKP1848Se DC-Link capacitor provides rated capacitance from 1µF to 75µF and low ESR down to 3mOhm. The RoHS-compliant device offers high ripple current capabilities up to 27A and rated voltages of 500VDC, 700VDC, 900VDC, and 1200VDC at +85C.
