Web-IOs now also support OPC UA

Wiesemann & Theis' Web-IOs now support OPC UA, one of the most important common communication standards. These Web-IOs make even older machines, controllers and measuring devices viable for future use.

Web-IOs enable traditional automation components and multiple measuring points to communicate with any other machine, terminal device, system or cloud. Due to the OPC UA industrial protocol, the corresponding data can be integrated as OPC UA nodes into many IoT and Industry 4.0 applications regardless of the manufacturer, platform, devices used, or application complexity.

With the Web-IO 4.0 digital units, 24V or 230V switching signals can be gathered and monitored across the network, even from older applications. They also function as a network remote switch. The Web-IO 4.0 Analog offers analog in- and outputs from conventional components across the network, and this lets you read external sensors or control actuators, for example. Thanks to the Web Thermometer sensor, data including temperature, barometric pressure and relative humidity, and CO2 concentration can be easily acquired and integrated into Industry 4.0 applications.

All Web-IOs also support Web standards, including HTTP(S), email and FTP as well as MQTT, REST, Modbus-TCP and OPC DA, as well as the comprehensive socket API. The compact housing for DIN rail mounting is perfect for installation in control cabinets or sub-distribution panels.
