Thick film chip resistors lower component counts and improve accuracy

16-03-2023 | Vishay | Passives

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc has released a new series of Automotive Grade thick film chip resistors in the compact 2512 case size offering high working voltages up to 1415V. The Vishay Techno CDMA series devices are intended to lower component counts and placement costs for automotive and industrial applications while decreasing PCB sizes and supplying increased accuracy and stability.

Comprising two resistors combined into one package with a 5mm creepage distance, the chip dividers offer single-component replacements for multiple discrete resistors employed in voltage divider applications. The space-saving AEC-Q200 qualified devices are optimised for voltage monitoring and overvoltage protection in high-power DC-DC converters, inverters, onboard chargers, and BMS in EVs and industrial equipment.

The series provides a wide resistance range from 500kOhm to 50MOhm, with maximum standard resistance ratios to 600:1, tolerances down to ±0.5%, and TCR tracking as low as ±10ppm/C. RoHS-compliant and halogen-free, the chip dividers feature a three-sided wraparound termination configuration, with solder-coated nickel barrier terminations standard.
