Mouser now stocks the ST25R100 and ST25R200 NFC/HF RFID readers from STMicroelectronics. These high-frequency NFC/HF RFID ICs deliver high-end performance in a compact package for reader-plus tag solutions in consumer, medical, and industrial battery-powered applications.

The devices come in a small 4mm x 4mm 24-pin TQFN package offering high dynamic power output (0.8V/1.2W) for easy integration into applications with long-read range, small antennas and improved low-power card detection. The ST25R100 reader IC offers an entry-level option for cost-sensitive applications with an RC oscillator and a programmable timer to automatically scan for cards or other NFC-enabled devices while in wake-up (WU) mode. This IC is ideal for accessory recognition, automatic parameter setting, identification or access control with data transfer speeds of up to 6Mbit/s at 0.8V output power, external communication interfaces including an SPI, and a wide 2.7V to 5.5V power supply range with an equally wide -25C to 85C ambient temperature range.

The ST25R200 reader IC adds extended features for medium to high-power applications like industrial IoT and gaming with integrated electromagnetic device (EMD) handling, active wave shaping (AWS) with overshoot or undershoot protection, and an RC oscillator with a programmable timer to scan for cards or other NFC-enabled devices while in WU mode. It also provides an SPI with data transfer speeds of up to 10Mbit/s with a 1.2W output power, a wide 2.7V to 5.5V power supply range with a broad -40C to 85C ambient temperature range.
