Wi-Fi network tester offers advanced Wi-Fi 6E troubleshooting capabilities

The extensive network infrastructure upgrade in favour of more bandwidth-intensive applications and end devices has led to a huge increase in Wi-Fi 6E access points. Whereas 1.5 million devices were delivered in 2022, by 2024 it was already 5.2 million.

“The introduction of the advanced Wi-Fi test capabilities in LinkIQ Duo accommodates the specific challenges and demands technicians are facing as a result of the rapid spread of Wi-Fi 6E-,” declared Susanne Storch, product manager at Conrad Electronic.

Functional testing is essential in installation and troubleshooting in wireless networks. “The LinkIQ Duo Cable+WiFi+Network Tester now available on the Conrad Sourcing Platform means that time-consuming swapping and the use of multiple special tools is no longer necessary,” adds Susanne Storch. Here, all functions needed for remedying Wi-Fi connectivity and performance problems, identifying location and availability, and configuring access points are combined in one single package.

“When installing and troubleshooting networks and devices, our customers wanted an easier, more cost-effective way to manage active network testing,” said Mark Mullins, product marketing manager and founding member of Fluke Networks.” LinkIQ combines the testing they need into one, affordable package that is simple to use and understand, ensuring each link of the connection between the Wi-Fi user and the network works properly for maximum performance.”

There are multiple applications available to ensure the maximum performance of the network: testing of cable connectivity between network and access point up to 10Gb/s, verifying connectivity with the main devices, calculation of the maximum bandwidth with the help of frequency-based measurements, and conducting of Ipv4 and Ipv6 ping and PoE tests are just a few of the many possibilities available when using the LinkIQ Duo. Also, the device detects common configuration errors such as using an illegal channel for the detected region or a non-recommended channel, weak security settings, or access points that overlap with an adjacent access point – unless one is low power.

Fluke Networks has also released the new Fibre Media Converter (FMC) for LinkIQ is available. Its new FMC kits allow every LinkIQ to connect, understand and debug the fibre port connections by determining the application, switch name, port name and VLAN and verifying connectivity using IP ping. The FMC includes the FiberLert Live Fiber Detector for checking the presence of fibre optic light and determining polarity.
