Vishay has introduced a series of radial leaded multilayer ceramic capacitors designed specifically for automotive applications. The K…H Series High Operating Temperature Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors – better known as HOTcaps™ – are AEC-Q200-qualified and suitable for the harshest automotive applications.

Constructed from a X0U dielectric, Vishay claims that HOTcaps™ MLCCs feature an unmatched maximum operating temperature of +175°C. The MLCCs have a capacitance change of +22% / -56% between temperatures of -55°C to +175°C. Leads are 100% tinned copper clad, with straight or crimped versions available.

Said to set a new standard in reliability and performance, the RoHS-compliant Vishay HOTcaps™ feature UL 94 V-0 flame retardant epoxy resin. They are suitable for multiple automotive applications, such as EMI filtering in functional areas, including brake system controls, turbo chargers, throttle valves, cable harnesses, exhaust gas and seat position sensors.
