TDK Corporation has introduced the 200W TDK-Lambda brand PYH200 series of DC-DC converters. Offering a 12:1 ultra-wide input range of 14 to 160VDC, these board mount products are packaged in the industry-standard half-brick format measuring 61mm x 57.9mm x 12.7mm (L x W x H). The housing is silicon potted to offer high resistance to shock and vibration. This benefits applications compliant to EN 50155.

The device is offered with 12V, 15V, 24V and 48V nominal outputs, adjustable across a -20% to +15% range for non-standard voltages. All models offer overcurrent, output-overvoltage and overtemperature protection. Standard functions incorporate remote sense, remote on/off, frequency synchronisation to an external clock, and the capability to expand the hold-up time by connecting an electrolytic capacitor to the BUS terminal.

The power modules offer 90% efficiencies and can operate with a base plate temperature of -40C to +100C. Optional heatsinks aid forced air cooling, convection cooling or the modules can be conduction-cooled.

Input to output and input to baseplate isolation is 3,000VAC with an output to baseplate isolation of 500VAC. Certification is to the IEC/UL/CSA/EN 62368-1 safety standards with the CE and UKCA marks for the Low Voltage and RoHS Directives. The device, together with a typical test setup, has been tested to meet the EN 50155, EN 45545-2, EN 61373 and EN 50121-3-2 railway standards.
