NXP Semiconductors LPC55S6x Arm Cortex-M33 MCUs feature dual Arm cores and Arm TrustZone technology for industrial, building automation, IoT edge computing, diagnostic equipment, and consumer electronics applications. Based on the Armv8-M architecture with a low-power 40nm embedded flash process, these devices provide advanced security features, including SRAM-based PUF root of trust and provisioning, as well as asset protection with Arm TrustZone-M. These microcontrollers also provide real-time execution from encrypted images.
The MCUs feature an integrated power management unit to lower power use and achieve up to 32µA/MHz efficiency at the 96MHz core clock frequency. The devices possess a dedicated DSP hardware accelerator leveraging the co-processor extensions offered in the Armv8-M architecture and increasing the processing capability of the CPU while sustaining full ecosystem and toolchain compatibility. The microcontrollers allow enhanced real-time parallelism, employing an autonomous PLU for offloading and execution of user-defined tasks.
The microcontrollers are provided in HLQFP-100, VFBGA-98, and HTQFP-64 packages, with a -40C to +105C operating temperature range.
Typical applications include consumer electronics, diagnostic equipment, building control and automation, secure applications, industrial IoT, and machine learning.
