There has been an increase in the usage of applications relying on the IoT and various smart scenarios (such as smart factories, smart transportation, and image recognition systems), which are powered and transmitted through a PoE switch. To accommodate these developments, TRUMPower has introduced its 950W open frame TNP950-5412 power supply with dual outputs of 12V and 54V. The 54V output is specially made for PoE networking applications, enabling the power supply to be used for PoE switches, which provides users with better support for applications that may need wireless setups.
The power supply can provide up to 950W output power with 28CFM forced air cooling. It supplies between 6W and 150W from its 12V output while simultaneously providing 1.08W to 793.8W from its 54V output. The unit has a built-in PFC function, is isolated between its 54V and 12V outputs, and has 1.5KVac isolation between its Protective Earth and Return.
The power supply has dimensions of 7.48” (L) x 3.54” (W) x 1.4” (H), a weight of 1.186lbs, and the means to be mounted on a 1U chassis. The power supply has an operating altitude of up to 5,000m and an operating temperature between 0C and 50C while derating linearly from 100% load at 50C to 80% load at 70C. It is an extremely reliable unit with an MTBF of 500,000 hours minimum at full load, 25C ambient, calculated per Telcordia SR-332.
The power supply is approved to the latest ITE IEC/UL/EN 62368-1 (3rd Edition) standard and complies with immunity standards including EN 55032, FCC/VCCI class A (conducted and radiated emissions), EN 61000-3-2, EN 61000-3-3, EN 61000-4-2, EN 61000-4-3, EN 61000-4-4, EN 61000-4-5, EN 61000-4-6, EN 61000-4-8, and EN 61000-4-11.
