Mouser now stocks the Nitrogen8M Plus SMARC from Boundary Devices, a high-performance SoM conforming to the SMARC 2.1 industry standard. When combined with the SMARC carrier board, the device serves as an SBC that can significantly speed products to market. The device is ideal for various IIoT applications, including handheld devices, gateways, and vision solutions. Beyond industrial IoT, the device accelerates device design for application areas, including smart cities and smart homes, healthcare, and more.

The device brings together the NXP Semiconductors i.MX 8M Plus applications processor, the NXP PCA9450 PMIC, and Laird Connectivity's Sterling-LWB5+ Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2 combo radio module based on Infineon's CYW43439 silicon. The device's advanced Wi-Fi performance also supplies lower latency for AI applications. Quad Arm Cortex-A53 processors are integrated with an NPU of 2.3 TOPS that greatly accelerates machine learning inference. The vision engine comprises two MIPI-CSI camera inputs and an HDR-capable ISP capable of 375MPixel/s.

The device is supported by the company's Universal SMARC carrier board and is also available to order from Mouser. Created to provide a platform for SMARC SoMs, the carrier board acts as a motherboard to the SMARC SoM and provides interface ports for relevant peripherals.
