Mouser is now stocking STM32L5 ultra-low-power microcontrollers from STMicroelectronics. Based on an Arm Cortex-M33 core with Arm TrustZone hardware-based security, the series comprises a suite of protection features and embedded high-speed memories while providing high performance and ultra-low power consumption.

The microcontrollers feature a security architecture based on Arm TrustZone with the ARMv8-M Main Extension. The 32-bit Cortex-M33 core with floating-point unit also executes a full set of DSP instructions and an MPU that enhances application security. Furthermore, the family has received PSA Level 1 and Level 2 certifications from Arm.

The devices embed high-speed memories (up to 512Kbytes of flash memory and 256Kbytes of SRAM), plus a flexible external memory controller for static memories (for devices with packages of 100 pins and more). Other peripherals incorporate an octo-SPI flash memories interface and a comprehensive range of enhanced I/Os and peripherals connected to two APB buses, two AHB buses, and a 32-bit multi-AHB bus matrix. The devices also include ST’s ART Accelerator, which enables zero-wait states out of the 64-bit program flash at a clock speed of up to 110MHz and 165DMIPS performance.

The microcontrollers leverage the company's low-power technologies to provide designers with the flexibility to optimise power consumption. Technologies including voltage scaling to balance power consumption with processing demand and a comprehensive set of power-saving modes (including a run mode as low as 62µA/MHz and a 108nA standby mode) enable engineers to create a wide range of low-power applications.
