Mouser now stocks the CMP961x Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules from CEL (California Eastern Laboratories). These modules are based on NXP Semiconductors’ IW611 and IW612 wireless SoC and deliver the performance and network optimisation capabilities of Wi-Fi 6 and Matter, a new connectivity standard advocated by Apple, Amazon, Google and hundreds of other companies for IoT communication across smart devices in building automation, healthcare, medical devices, retail/POS terminals, security, video cameras, and smart home applications.

The modules provide flexibility to OEMs and users to use lower bandwidth and longer-range protocols like Bluetooth Long Range to address applications with other demands and needs. The CMP9612 also supports Thread (IP-based MESH Networking) and Matter.

Coexistence support for dual/tri-radio protocols is supplied to allow multiple networks and applications. Wi-Fi operational modes incorporate STA, AP, Wi-Fi Direct, or combinations thereof. BT5.2 supports LE 2Mbps, long-range and advertising extensions, and LE Audio and profiles such as HFP, A2DP, and Dual WBS. Classic Bluetooth and BLE are supported over HCI. With +20-dBm output power, the modules supply best-in-class range and coverage, which improves throughput, lower latency, decreased power consumption, faster OTA firmware updates, and better network reliability.

The modules are versatile and ready for integration with virtually any host platform, including microcontroller or microprocessor architectures supporting Android, Linux, and FreeRTOS operating systems. The devices are supplied in a 16.64mm × 27.8mm × 3.47mm module with a PCB-trace antenna or MHF4 connector and in a compact 12mm × 12mm LGA package with an RF pin.
