Mouser is continuing to expand its portfolio of wireless connectivity products.

Wireless connectivity underpins many technologies in our daily lives, from robust and precise automotive positioning to allowing satellite-based IoT connectivity for geographically remote assets. With the provision of wireless communication, these applications are feasible. As an area of technology constantly evolving, keeping pace with the latest innovative wireless modules is essential for any application’s success.

New wireless product highlights available from the company include supporting LoRaWAN applications. The LR1121 IC from Semtech is an ultra-low power, long-range multiband transceiver. It covers the global ISM frequency bands in the range of 150MHz to 960MHz as well as 2.4GHz and the satellite 2.1GHz S-band. It supports any combination of modulation methods, including LoRa, (G)FSK, and Long Range FHSS (LR-FHSS) and supplies compliance with ETSI EN300 220, FCC CFR 47 Part 15 and other wireless regulatory standards. The device contains a cryptographic engine capable of AES-128 encryption and decryption algorithms and is fully compatible with SX1261/2/8 devices and the LoRaWAN standard. An integrated power amplifier provides up to +22dBm in the sub-GHz spectrum and up to +11dBm at 2.4GHz. The transceiver is ideal for various use cases, from smart metering and smart city applications to monitoring agricultural sensors and tracking assets.

The nRF7002 by Nordic Semiconductor is a Wi-Fi 6 companion IC that supplies ultra-low power connectivity for a wide range of battery-powered Wi-Fi products, including smart home applications, industrial IoT sensors, and wellness wearable devices. It supports non-Nordic host devices but has been created to work alongside Nordic’s nRF52/nRF53 series Bluetooth SoCs and the highly integrated nRF9160 cellular IoT SiP. The device supports all Matter protocols and Thread mesh networks. To support Wi-Fi 6 prototyping, the nRF7002-DK development kit comprises a Nordic nRF5340 multiprotocol SoC host and permits trialling Wi-Fi 6 features such as OFDMA, beam forming, and setting the TWT.

Designed for the expanding spatial context awareness use case ecosystem, the Type 2BP UWB module from Murata delivers secure and precise distance ranging using ToF measurements and accurate location detection. Operating in the 6250MHz to 8250MHz spectrum, the module supports up to three antennas enabling 2D or 3D AoA and includes NXP’s SR150 Trimension UWB chipset, clock and filters. This highly integrated approach greatly simplifies UWB wireless development and certification. To further assist prototyping, the Type2BP UWB evaluation kit includes an NXP QN9090 BLE microcontroller SoC, PCB patch antenna, and all interface and level-shifting components.
