Farnell element14 now stocks Infineons's DC motor control shield - one of
the first high current motor control boards that is compatible with both
Arduino and the Infineon XMC1100 Boot Kit. It can drive two uni-directional
DC motors (half bridge configuration) or one bi-directional DC motor
(H-Bridge configuration). The integrated BTN8982TA NovalithIC half bridges
can be controlled by a PWM via the IN Pin.
The integrated driver IC makes Interfacing to a microcontroller easy, thanks
to its logic level inputs, diagnosis with current sense, slew rate
adjustment, dead time generation and protection against over-temperature,
under-voltage, over-current and short-circuit.
Key benefits of the control shield include rapid prototyping of DC motor
control, easy testing of half and full bridge motor control, status flag
diagnosis with current sense capability and over-temperature shut down with
latch behaviour and under-voltage shutdown.
