Designed to minimise no-load power consumption and maximise efficiency to
help designs meet the latest environmental legislation, XP Power's ECP225-A
PSU series PSUs are now available from Farnell element14.
The single-output AC/DC power supplies are approved for medical and ITE
applications and offer an ultra low-profile of one-inch high with a
footprint of just 3in by 5in.
The ECP225-A provides up to 225W force-cooled or 150W convection-cooled
leading to very high power densities of 15 W/in3 or 10W/in3 respectively.
A 5V, 2A standby output and a 12V, 500mA fan supply are included in the
design. The power supply contains two fuses and low leakage currents as
required by medical applications and is safety approved to operate in a 70C
ambient. No-load input power is less than 0.5W.
The low profile and safety approvals covering ITE and medical standards,
together with efficiency up to 94% and conducted emissions conforming to
EN55011/22 level B, allow the ECP225-A series to be used in a vast range of
applications, says the company.
