Now stocked by Mouser, the Littelfuse SP402x TVS diode array is designed to
protect electronic devices from high-speed and often damaging voltage
transients such as lightning and electrostatic discharge (ESD).
The devices feature a high level of protection with very low capacitance,
leakage current and clamp voltage. They are highly suitable for I/O
interfaces and digital and analog signal lines typically found in a variety
of computer and portable electronic applications.
The SP402x diode arrays can safely absorb up to 7A (SP4024), 12A (SP4023)
and 15A (SP4022) of peak surge current per the IEC61000-4-5 International
Standard (tp=8/20µs) without performance degradation. Each device within the
series can also absorb ±30kV of repetitive ESD strikes at the maximum level
(Level 4) specified in the IEC 61000 4 2 international standard. For
electrical fast transient (EFT) ratings, the SP402x series is specified at
40A (5/50ns) per the EC61000 4 4 international standard. The low loading
capacitance and high surge capabilities of the SP402x series make the
devices ideal for protecting security equipment, instrumentation, medical
equipment, computers and peripherals, telecommunication ports such as xDSL,
and other high voltage, high speed legacy interfaces.
The single-channel devices provide a low capacitance of 1.3pF and offer both
unidirectional and bidirectional polarity. The devices operate over 40C to
+125C and are available in a small SOD323 package. They are RoHS-compliant
and are AEC-Q101 qualified to AEC Q101 Stress Test Qualification for
Automotive Grade Discrete Semiconductors, says the company.
