Semtech Corp. (Nasdaq: SMTC), a leading supplier of analog and mixed-signal
semiconductors, today announced t
The RClamp1255P, a new high-performance, low capacitance transient voltage
suppression (TVS) device has been introduced by Semtech. The highly
integrated device is designed to replace multiple discrete components while
providing complete VBUS surge protection, and ESD protection for USB data
lines and ID line.
Built on Semtech’s highly differentiated process technologies that achieve
the industry’s lowest clamping voltages, the RClamp1255P delivers optimal
transient protection and is housed in a 2mm x 1.8mm package with a height of
only 0.57mm. The small size, low capacitance, and high level of surge and
ESD protection makes the RClamp1255P an ideal solution for protecting USB
interfaces in mobile phones, laptops and portable electronics, says the
company.
“With increasing consumption of 4G data, consumers demand reliable solutions
that enable them to stay connected to mobile networks. Robust ESD protection
is more important to portable electronics manufacturers than ever before,”
said Rick Hansen, product marketing director, protection products, Semtech.
“The RClamp1255P expands Semtech’s growing portable product family and
offers fully integrated ESD and surge protection for USB 2.0 ports used on
portable devices in a single easy to use package.”
