Highly-integrated nano DC-DC power modules make compact designs easy

09-03-2015 | Farnell element14 | Power

Integrating a DC-DC converter, inductor and passives into a compact QFN package, Texas Instruments' Simple switcher LMZ power modules are now available from Farnell element14. The nano modules make layout easy as the number of external components required for high-performance and high-density point-of-load designs can be as low as five (typically an input capacitor, output capacitor, soft-start capacitor and two resistors). TI’s LMZ21700, LMZ21701, LMZ20501 and LMZ20502 modules are easy-to-use step-down DC-DC converters supporting input voltages up to 17V. They feature an integrated inductor and are available in a tiny 3.5mm × 3.5mm × 1.75mm package.
