Single- and dual-row receptacles offer 50% space savings over traditional types

Offering 50% space savings over traditional USCAR 0.64mm connectors, Molex's Mini50 single- and dual-row receptacles are now available from Farnell element14. They are available sealed or unsealed, with smaller terminals to fit more low-current electrical circuits in interior transportation-vehicle environments. Vehicle manufacturers have been demanding smaller interconnects as the surge in demand for automotive infotainment and safety options has increased the need to squeeze ever more electronics into the same space. The Mini50 series wire-to-board receptacles respond to these requirements allowing manufacturers to package circuits in tighter spaces by deploying smaller pin, terminal and wire sizes while reducing costs. They are ideal for a wide range of automotive applications, including cameras / sensors, switches, clusters / navigation, HVAC, headliners, lighting, mirrors, power steering, radios and DVD / entertainment. The Mini50 Unsealed Connector System is approved as the industry's only USCAR 050 interface, says the company.
