Tiny regulated miniature power modules exploit SMD and hybrid technology

24-06-2015 | Farnell element14 | Power

Traco Power THV/SHV series DC-DC converters are now available from Farnell element14. The tiny regulated miniature power modules use SMD and hybrid technology and run at 2-3W. The THN-15 series high-performance DC-DC converter modules sets new power density standards. This 15W converter comes in an encapsulated, shielded metal package with dimensions of only 1 x 1 x 0.4 inches and occupies 50% less board space than predecessors, says the company. All models have a wide 2:1 input voltage range and precisely regulated, isolated output voltages. Their advanced circuit design provides high efficiency up to 88%, allowing an operating temperature range of -40C to +85C (with derating). Other features include remote On/Off and trimmable output. Typical applications include mobile equipment, instrumentation, distributed power architectures in communication and industrial electronics and anywhere where PCB space is critical.
