Three new series of Category 6 Ethernet connectors from Amphenol are now
available in Europe through TTI Europe. The Socapex RJ Field Cat 6
interconnects feature a fast data rate of 1Gb/s under 250MHz and are
available in three different series.
The connectors are designed for Ethernet networks in harsh environments and
provide shock and vibration protection, plus sealing against dust and fluid
ingress to IP68. The range features Amphenol's patented RJStop concept,
which enables a standard RJ45 cordset to be terminated in the field without
tools or cabling operations. The new range is compatible with data
transmission 10 BaseT, 100 BaseTX and 1000 BaseT up to 250MHz per EIA/TIA
568 and ClassE per ISO 11801.
The RJF5446 Series has a plastic shell and is compliant with IEC 60603-7
variant 12. It features push/pull coupling for speed of handling in the
field and is compatible with 6mm to 13mm diameter cable. Sealed to IP68
against water ingress, it can also withstand more than 1,000 hours of salt
spray exposure and is also fire retardant/low smoke qualified to UL94 V0 and
NFF 16102, DIN 5510-2. Operating temperature range is -40C to +85C.
The RJFRB Series is a plastic interconnect with reverse bayonet coupling
designed primarily for industrial and telecoms applications, but it also
suits robotics and motion control. It is compatible with cable diameters
from 5.5mm to 7mm and its patented RJStop(r) system enables standard RJ45
cordsets to be used in a protective composite plug which protects against
shock, dust and fluid. The RJFRB Series has an operating temperature range
of -40C to +85C and is specified to a minimum 500 mating cycles.
For applications requiring an Atex Zone 2 compliant connector, the RJFTV6X
Series circular connector has a metallic shell and meets industrial Ethernet
specification EN60079-15 for Zone 2, Class I, Division 2, low-power
non-sparking connectors.
Additional applications include factory automation, entertainment systems,
video systems, geophysics, sensors and machine tools.
