Available now from Farnell element14, SchmartBoard SMT to DIP Adapters
enable the use of surface-mount technology (SMT) components with
breadboards.
As SMT becomes increasingly popular with IC manufacturers, breadboard users
often have to use a socket or search for a DIP version of the chip when
working with the newest ICs. Sockets can be expensive and often a DIP
version of the new IC is not available. With SchmartBoard's patented 'ez'
technology, soldering SMT components is a simple, quick and flawless
operation.
SchmartBoard is the only company with a patented solution for easily
soldering of surface mount parts. Package sizes supported include SOT 23,
SC70, SOIC, and QFP and QFN.
The SC70 and SOT 23 to DIP Adapter is an SOIC to DIP adapter with a twist.
This board is really six boards in one. It contains two boards for SOT 23
(up to 8 legs), with a .95mm pitch, two boards for SOT 323, 353, 363 parts
with a .65mm pitch, and two boards for SC70 (up to 6 legs) with a 0.65mm
pitch. A standard row of 40 headers has been included as a bonus for users'
convenience, says the company.
