Now stocked by Farnell element14, Intel's Edison module for IoT applications
features a Tangier SoC that mixes a dual-core Atom CPU running Linux with a
Quark chip, plus optional baseboard kits.
The Intel Edison development platform has specifically been designed to
enable rapid and easy prototyping and production of Internet of Things (IoT)
and wearable computing products, thereby lowering the barriers to entry for
inventors, entrepreneurs and consumer product designers.
The 25mm x 35.5mm module features 1GB of LPDDR3 RAM (2 x 32-bit) and 4GB of
eMMC flash, dual-band 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0. It supports
Arduino Sketch and Linux, and has a 70-pin Hirose socket.
