Multiple instrument measurement visibility and data capture

Farnell element14 has launched the latest version of Keysight Technologies' BenchVue software, a PC software application that provides multiple instrument measurement visibility and data capture, eliminating the need for instrument programming facilitating rapid prototyping. This launch comes shortly after Farnell element14 expanded its proposition to include software tools and the industry’s first instant e-delivery capability for customer software purchases. Combining world-class software products with the company’s full range of semiconductor components and other electronics hardware, Farnell element14 is in a unique position to support its global customer base. Engineers will be able to purchase software suites and packages such as BenchVue immediately via all channels - including online, call centres and field sales – for instant download. BenchVue advances the way engineers interact with their instruments and their entire bench, from initial connection to completing their analysis. Users simply plug an instrument into their PC over LAN, GPIB or USB and the instrument is automatically configured for use in BenchVue. No programming or separate instrument drivers are required, accelerating common testing tasks for engineers and technicians. Data capture and export are accomplished with just a few clicks streamlining documentation and analysis of results, says the company. “Offering an ever increasing portfolio of engineering software for immediate electronic delivery demonstrates a major leap forward for Farnell element14’s customer experience. Engineers no longer have to wait days for software to arrive at their desk.” said Robin Colman, global head of Premier Farnell’s Software Business Units. “Being the first channel partner to offer the Keysight BenchVue product line via eDelivery extends our portfolio of products available for eDelivery beyond embedded products and into the test and measurement technology sector.” Earlier this month Keysight launched the landmark 3.0 version of BenchVue and introduced a new capability that allows for custom creation of simple automated tests. The new BenchVue Test Flow app features an intuitive drag-and-drop interface that allows for rapid prototyping of test sequences. The app combines the power of a sequencer with the data capture and analysis tools of BenchVue. The new 3.0 release also features the addition of a Network Analyzer app along with additional model support, bringing the total number of supported instruments to over 300. BenchVue 3.0’s internal architecture allows for independent updates and downloads of individual applications. With BenchVue 3.0, downloads are smaller, updates are faster, and application software releases are no longer tied to BenchVue platform releases, says the company.
