Compact AC/DC units deliver more for power-hungry products

Luso Electronics has announced availability of Qualstar’s N2Power branded highly-efficient 76.2mm x 127mm XL500 Series (500W), available in 12, 24 and 48V output models. The highly-compact devices are seen as ideal for broadcast, storage and network products with applications in the industrial, gaming and instrumentation markets with significant power requirements. Delivering 500W and achieving up to 92% peak efficiency, the XL500 provides more power from its small footprint design than competing modules, freeing board space for other components. The new units offer a universal AC input with a built-in safeguard against any sudden drop in power (brown-out protection). Additionally, there is protection against over-load, over-voltage and over-temperature plus a remote sense function to safely regulate the supply's output voltage.
